Welcome to SplitApp! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SplitApp website, mobile app, and related services ("Services").

By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use SplitApp.

1. Acceptance

You must be of legal age to enter into binding contracts (at least 18 years old in most jurisdictions) or have parental consent to use the Services.

2. Your Account

• You must create an account with a valid email address and password.
• You are responsible for maintaining your account's confidentiality and all activities under it.
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access or suspected breaches.
• You may not use another person's account without permission.

3. Permitted Use / Prohibited Conduct

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Post or share content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or violent.
• Infringe intellectual property rights of others.
• Send spam or engage in fraudulent activities.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or access data belonging to others.
• Reverse engineer or replicate SplitApp's core functionality for competing products.

4. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (expenses, notes, attachments) but grant SplitApp a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and process that content for the purpose of operating the Services.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to any content you submit.

5. Payments and Subscriptions

If SplitApp offers premium plans or paid features:

• Prices, billing cycles, and renewal terms will be disclosed in-app.
• Automatic renewals may apply, subject to store policies (App Store / Google Play).
• You may cancel your subscription anytime as permitted by the applicable app store.
• Refunds are handled per store policies or applicable law.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SplitApp provides the Services "as is" and disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

7. Limitation of Liability

SplitApp shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services.

Our total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount you paid to SplitApp within the 12 months prior to the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SplitApp, its affiliates, and staff from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

9. Modifications and Termination

We may modify or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.

We may also suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. Continued use after updates implies your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall be resolved in the appropriate courts having jurisdiction over such matters.

11. General Provisions

• If any provision is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
• Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
• You may not assign these Terms without prior written consent from SplitApp.
