How to split group expenses fairly
1. List every shared cost
Rent, utilities, internet, groceries, streaming subscriptions — anything the whole group pays for goes on the list.
2. Divide by the number of people
An equal split works when everyone shares everything. For costs only some people use, split those separately.
3. Review monthly
Bills change. A quick monthly check keeps the split fair and avoids one person quietly overpaying.
When an equal split isn't enough
